Julius Nordvinter (b. 2003, Gothenburg) is a self-taught Swedish artist who began painting in 2021 as a way of exploring and giving form to his inner world. Working between figuration and abstraction, his paintings combine layered color, line, faces, and symbols to create emotionally charged compositions that balance spontaneity with structure. Central to Nordvinter’s practice is the self-invented Nordvinterianska Alphabet, a coded symbolic language that appears throughout his work. In his ongoing series Viaje Azul, this language becomes part of a broader exploration of light and darkness, where personal symbolism and improvisation leave meaning open to interpretation.
